John Gavenonis is vice president and general manager (VP/GM) of the Chemistries and Supplies Division at Agilent Technologies. He joined Agilent in 2017 as VP/GM of Agilent’s Chemistries Division, where he led the successful acquisition of glycan reagents, kits, and standards producer ProZyme, and later served as VP/GM of Agilent’s Supplies Division. Prior to joining Agilent, John spent 14 years at DuPont, where he served as GM of the Corporate Center for Analytical Sciences. John honed his strategic leadership and managerial skills through a series of increasingly senior roles in R&D, technical service, marketing, and manufacturing in the DuPont Titanium Technologies and Performance Polymers businesses.
John has a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of California, Berkeley, an S.B. in chemistry from MIT, and a certificate in Leading Strategic Growth from Columbia Business School. He is a former board director of the MIT Alumni Association, a member of the MIT Department of Chemistry Corporation Visiting Committee, a member of the MIT Annual Giving Board, and a trustee for Tower Hill School (Wilmington, DE). He also serves as a member of the advisory board for Kalion, Inc., an early-stage synthetic biology company. Originally from Larksville, PA, John lives in Wilmington, DE with his wife and two sons.
